Title: Operations Associate 

Basic Function: With guidance from the Operations Manager, the Operations Associate will provide support to Field to Family’s food hub operations on an as needed basis.

 General Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Load and deliver food hub orders to customers, primarily school districts, utilizing Field to Family’s refrigerated sprinter van;
    1. Follow routes via Google Maps and internal delivery directions for each location
    2. Provide exceptional customer service, including fulfilling requests, communicating with customers about delivery times when necessary, and working with the Operations Manager to plan for efficiency and excellence 
    3. Manage customer orders: organize, assess for unit size, producer, and storage type; monitor for quality and food safety. Ensure each order is delivered to the correct location and that paperwork matches order.
  2. Receive farmers’ products: assist producer with unloading deliveries at warehouse, check for product quality, accurate inventory, case labeling and paperwork
  3. Ensure food safety protocols are maintained, record-keeping logs are accurate; required cleaning, equipment, and others as needed in accordance with food safety requirements; 
  4. Misc. duties include: lifting, moving, cleaning, organizing, tracking and reporting orders and warehouse equipment;
  5. Work closely with volunteers, and other personnel as assigned 
  6. Maintain good verbal and written communications with supervisor, staff and external partners

Hours and Compensation: $15 per hour
Specific need currently:
When needed Tuesdays: within the hours of 7AM-3PM
When needed Wednesdays: within the hours of 7AM-3PM
When needed Thursdays: within the hours of 10AM-6PM
Fridays: on call for 10AM-2PM for up to 3 hours

Required Qualifications: 

  • Applicants must be 18+ with a valid driver’s license
  • Lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Proficiency with carts, skill at arranging food in a safe and secure manner for travel
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills  
  • Competent working with Google Drive 
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated with ability to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to interact with a diverse population of the public and work with various communities
  • Team player and supportive of program and community development projects
