2017 Culinary Walk: Thursday, September 7th

5:30-8:00 PM

The Culinary Walk is an annual delicious fundraiser for Field to Family featuring seven downtown restaurants. Walk with friends and sample culinary treats from local restaurants featuring ingredients from local farmers. Go from stop to stop to experience unique dishes that are typically not found on the menu! Bring your friends and meet new ones on this annual downtown culinary tradition.

2017 Stops Included:

  • New Pioneer Food Co-op

    New Pi’s New Korean BBQ Local Beef Tacos (Grass Run Farms Beef Brisket Bulgogi with New Pi Kimchi)
    Local Tofu Tacos (Miso-Marinated Old Capitol Tofu with Local Flint Ridge Red Cabbage Slaw)
    Caramel-Apple Coffee Cake (Local Iowa Choice Harvest Apples & Local Hansen’s Dairy Cream)

  • Pullman Bar & Diner
    Vietnamese style tacos, braised pork butt cooked with hoisin, mirin rice wine vinegar, garlic, brown sugar, scallion, ginger, and soy sauce. It will come with pickled carrots and red onion, similar to a bahn mi. Topped with sriracha aioli and cilantro. All pork is coming from Heartland Fresh Family Farm out of Donnelly, IA. All vegetables and cilantro are coming from Farmer Shanti Sellz at Muddy Miss Farms. The tortillas themselves are being made and pressed at Big Grove Brewery in Iowa City.
  • Atlas World Grill
    Sweet corn Italian ice garnished with bacon
    BBQ chicken cabbage wraps
  • Basta
    Heirloom tomato goat cheese tart
    Porchetta Fettunta- herb roasted pork, caramelized onions, roasted peppers, giadiniera
  • Devotay
    Coconut basil panna cotta
    Cantaloupe curry with heirloom tomatoes, roasted summer squash and eggplant.
  • Northside Bistro
    Hinterland farms pork ribs confited then glazed in sorghum and benne seed from Massdam sorghum mill with fermented kohlrabi and red cabbage. Produce from Bass Family Farms. And herbs and blossoms from urban greens
  • Local Burrito 
    Smoked beet relish with leaks from Millet Seed CSA on Sourdough from Local Crumb,
    Cheese Curds with Local Green Chilies
    Local Strawberry Tulsi Smoothie
